Clearwater NSA SPOOKTACULAR 2009 - the 10 yr-old South Tampa Spartans registered some convincing victories and earned a second-place finish in the 10-U division. If only they could have banked some of the runs from their earlier blowouts ...
Congrat also to the 11 yr-old South Tampa Spartans for their hard-fought second-place finish in the 12-U gold-division. It takes heart and toughness to consistently reach the finals against a pool of older, larger opponents.
Sarasota SHOCKTOBERFEST 2009 - the 11 yr-old South Tampa Spartans put a little shock (and awe) in their semi-final opponent in the 12-U NSA tourney, scoring 4 runs in the fifth and blasting a walkoff RBI in the sixth for a 5-4 come-back win. Second-place gold-division finish overall - very good.
The winning continues - In August, our 10-and-under South Tampa Spartans softball team won their second NSA travel tournament of the year, the Mizuno Summer Classic, and had fun doing it.
No fooling - Our 11 yr-old South Tampa Spartans got their first taste of life in the 12-and-under division. They brought home the first place trophy from the silver bracket in the NSA April Fool's Classic and now have the older girls in the gold division in their sights.
Congratulations again to our 10-and-under South Tampa Spartans softball team. They won their first tournament of the 2009 season, the March NSA Bartow Triple Slam. Not a bad start!
