2nd Place in the World !!!
(with an asterisk bigger than Coach J.D.'s truck)
Congratulations to our friends on the West Tampa/Bayshore friends SB Juniors team. As Florida/USA Regional champs, they headed to the Little League World Series in Kirkland, WS and made it all the way to the finals!
Although they ended up on the wrong side of a 4-3 score in a close championship game, their 'loss' could be attributable to a major rule violation committed by their opponent. That is, the coaches of Team Puerto Rico continued to bat their starting players while a rostered substitute languished on the bench the entire 7-inninggame. Historically -- and with obvious reason -- a properly documented violation of Little League's mandatory-play rule would have resulted in a forfeiture by the rule violator. But in this case, LL officials exercised 'discretion' and allowed Team Puerto Rico's 'victory' to stand. Their discretion, as discretion often does, did not go in favor of the folks who played by the rules.
South Tampa SB Majors Girls Take Second-Place at State!
After winning District 6 and Section 7, our South Tampa SB Majors team, pictured below, beat Orlando-St. Cloud 9-1 in the opening game of the state tourney. In the day-two double-header, the girls beat Port St. John 13-3 and NW Escambia 1-0. In the semi-final match-up, they eliminated hometown favorite, Cape Coral, with a 6-3 victory. Unfortunately, they came up just short in an extra-inning heartbreaker in the championship game against a tough New Tampa team. Congratulations to our state-finalist Majors!

SB 10-11 Girls also earn Silver Medals in their State Tourney!
After a hard-fought District Championship, the South Tampa SB 10-11 team, pictured below, cruised through sectionals on their way to their state tournament, where they easily won their first two pool games. Then they came from behind in an exciting 4-3 victory over Cape Coral in the state semifinals. In the championship game, they fell to Land 'O Lakes 8-6. Congratulations also to our state-finalist 10-11s!

Our 2009 players had Record-Breaking success in All-Star play, earning NINE championship titles. Take a moment to look back on what our last year's All-Stars achieved by clicking on:
Blue Jay batters 'went yard' three times on Keystone LL during a decisive (28-11) semi-final victory. In the championship game, they closed out Palma Ceia LL, who had two base runners on in the final inning, to take the 8-7 win. It took a total team effort to finally end TBLL's long gold-medal drought in the Tapi majors division -- very nice !
Blue Jays (in alpha-order): Michael Ancona, Austin Andersen, Riley Boswell, Casey Keller, Graham Kite-Powell, Robby Layne, Shawn McGory, Aidan Nichols, Ryland Pruett, Herbie Ramos, Zach Rondeau, and Sam Schival. Coaches Clyde Keller, Rufus Kite-Powell, and Tim McGory
Baseball Minors -- Congratulations to the Diamondbacks for reaching the tournament semi-finals.
Softball Minors, Majors, and Juniors -- Silver medals all around. Congrats to the Force, Knights, and Panthers for slugging their way into each of their championship games.

Baseball's 8-yr old Invitational District Tournament
Our 8U TBLL boys did very well in their first chance at post-season play -- the Annual Citrus Park Invitational. They won their 'pool' and finished with a 4-1 record and third place overall. Their only loss was a semi-final heartbreaker (8-7) against Palma Ceia. Nice medals, gentlemen!
